Thierry Sciard - Managing Principal, Asset Management
Thierry has some 30-years of combined investment banking, markets and investment management experience from working for some of the world’s leading financial institutions.

He was most recently Managing Director and Global Head of Fortis Investments’ Alternatives and Solutions Division, where he oversaw over €85bn of assets under management, and a Director on the boards of Cadogan Management LLC, Fortis Europe Private Equity, Fortis ECLIPP and Fortis Plan.

Prior to Fortis, Thierry was Head of Investment Management for Europe and the Middle East at Lehman Brothers Europe in London with responsibility for all oversight and strategic development for Private Equity, Asset Management and Private Investment Management in these regions. As part of the role Thierry was a member of Lehman Brothers’ European Executive Committee and Global Investment Management Executive Committee.

During his investment banking and markets career Thierry has worked for some of the largest global investment banks, most recently at Calyon where he was Global Head of the Capital Markets Division, a member of the Management Committee, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Equalt and Member of the Board of Calyon Financial. Previously, Sciard was Global Head of Fixed Income at Crédit Agricole Indosuez .
 
Thierry worked at Citigroup in London and Paris for over 13-years in a range of senior management roles, including Global COO for Rates and Fixed Income Derivatives and Head of European Rates Products most recently. Prior to the merger with Salomon Smith Barney in 1998, Thierry was Global Co-Head of Fixed Income, European Treasurer and Head of European Money Markets, Regional Head of all European Bond Portfolios and Global Head of FX Risk Management for all branches and affiliates of Citigroup worldwide. While in Paris, he was also Head of French Capital Markets and Head of French Government Bond Trading.

Sciard started his banking career at Bank of America in Paris in 1981, when he was a relationship manager for French corporates before being promoted to Head of French Bond Trading and the Matif (Marché à Terme International de France) Desk. Thierry graduated from ESCP in June 1979.
